Use the Small Roll First...
Let's start with why.
Why are you writing a blog?
Why are you calling it that?
Well, the best place to start is at the beginning.
It's Matt Matthew's fault. I've had a blog before, back in middle school when it was cool to blog and tell people about what you were doing and what you were thinking. I blogged a lot in college also.
And then Facebook happened. And blogging died. At least for me, blogging died.
But it hasn't really, because the major benefit of the blog is that I don't have to sift through everyone's JUNK to get to what I want, which is to know what my friends are thinking or wanting to share with me, how they are wanting to challenge me, and so on.
And so on.
And on I go, writing a blog about whatever comes to mind.
Candice has her blog about camping and cooking.
And Matt has his blog about changing the world.
And I have a blog about using the small roll first.
WHAT?
Yep, you read the right. The small roll should always be used first.
Backstory!!
I went camping once (one reason Candice and I are friends) and while in the bathroom (it wasn't rough camping), I had two rolls of toilet paper to choose from. A newer and an older roll. You can tell the age of a toilet paper roll based on it's size. The younger rolls are always larger than the smaller rolls.
So I had to choose which roll of toilet paper I was going to use. And I chose the newer roll, based on the above description. Doesn't just about everyone!
And while I was utilizing the services of the single ply toilet paper, I thought to myself, "Tomorrow, there's not going to be any toilet paper."
Fast forward a dozen hours and what do you know, I'm in the same toilet stall and am without toilet paper.
This is when it hits me. Always use the smaller roll first.
Had I just used the 'older' toilet paper the previous day, it would have come to it's end faster, and possibly have been replaced by the parks staff. My failure to use the first roll in caused greater agony later.
In summary, if you've made it this far, this blog will be a lot more of my random, not necessarily beneficial thoughts or experiences that happen throughout my day. I have notebook of random. This just happens to be a public display of various bits of wisdom and nothing that may help my friends, family and random people learn something more about themselves and the world around them...or not. It's not really about you anyway.
